The Bruno Manser Fund (BMF) handles stored personal data responsibly. In doing so, it adheres to the Swiss Federal Data Protection Ordinance (DSGVO) and the principle that addresses constitute sensitive data and must therefore be handled with care.
The Bruno Manser Fund stores the address data of individuals if one of the following conditions is met:
- The individual makes a donation for the Bruno Manser Fonds
- The individual signals interest in the projects of the Bruno Manser Fonds
- The individual signs a petition of the Bruno Manser Fonds
- The individual purchases something at the Bruno Manser Fonds
The addresses stored are used exclusively for sending information about the work of the Bruno Manser Fund. This information is sent in writing by letter or by e-mail.
The data will not be passed on to third parties. An exception to this is the provision of addresses to a printing company or a lettershop for the purpose of a larger mailing. This provision of addresses is subject to the Data Protection Act. The addresses are deleted by the external service provider after processing.
The BMF stores the following data:

E-mail addresses (storage location Mailchimp, USA)
The Bruno Manser Fund maintains a separate e-mail database for sending out newsletters (approx. once a month), which is made available by Mailchimp. The addresses for this mailing are added by subscription on the part of the person or by importing petition address data. Mailchimp allows the Bruno Manser Fund to send mass e-newsletters and to track open and click-through rates. Unsubscribing from the newsletter is possible at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link. There is no linking of data between Mailchimp and Cura.

Language preference (Cura database storage location)

Payments (Cura database location)
Both the time and the amount of a donation are stored in the database. This information is used to show the donations for the donors in the annual donation confirmation.

Visits to www.bmf.ch are registered and analysed anonymously. The website also stores cookies on the visitor's computer. These do not contain any personal data and can be deleted at any time.
There is no link between website visits and personal data in the database.
